Android 10 update for Galaxy A10 and A30 : Features and Release Date
Galaxy A30 and A10 are latest budget mid-rangers from Samsung running on Android 9 Pie out of the box. Both the devices feature One UI 1.1 custom skin of Samsung based on Pie.
The next major update for these mid-rangers is Android 10. Samsung already begins the development of the tenth anniversary Android update for its flagships. According to a leak, spotted by AndroidPure, the South Korean tech giant is going to upgrade both Galaxy A30 and A10 devices to Android 10.
Google released the Android 10 update officially on September 3rd and the rollout starts for Pixel series on the same day. The Search giant announced that they have dropped the tradition of naming android versions with famous desserts, so the update is called as Android 10 only.
Earlier, many tech giants including Sony, LG, Nokia participated in Android Q Beta program and rolledout early builds of Android Q for some of their flagships. However, Samsung didn’t participate in the Beta program, so the rollout may get delayed for Samsung devices. Last year, Samsung did well with the rollout of Android 9 Pie for its flagships. Because of Project Treble and other refinements, we expect the rollout of updates sooner this time.
Android 10 Rollout for Galaxy A10 and A30
According to leaks, the South Korean tech giant is going to launch the beta program of Android 10 for its flagships, Galaxy S10 in late-November. So we expect that the development for A and M series devices will commense soon after Galaxy S10. Most likely, the South Korean tech giant will begin the development in Q1 of 2020 and rollout the update in Q2 of 2020.
Some users may have to wait until Q3 of 2020, due to carrier delays and unknown technical difficulties. We will post the official rollout dates here, once Samsung has announced them.
Android 10 : What’s New ?
It is already clear that Samsung is currently developing One UI 2 interface based on Android 10 UI, as many leaks pointed the same.
The tenth anniversary edition of Android contains many notable features like Full Gesture navigation, native support for 5G and Foldable screens, Native dark mode, Improved digital wellbeing, Bubbles, New emojis, Smart reply and many more.
Full Gesture Navigation
In Android 10, the Search giant further refined the navigation around android and removed the navbar completely. So Galaxy A10 and A30 users will get more screen real estate and navigate using gestures on small bar like home button using Android 10. Users can even adjust the back gesture sensitivity using an option of Gear icon against Full Gesture navigation option in navigation section of Settings menu.
If user don’t like the new navigation, he can revert back old navigation bar with Back and overview buttons. We expect Samsung will adopt the navigation system and gestures replacing its own gestures.
Parental Controls and Focus mode
The Search giant refined the Digital Wellbeing further in Android 10 with the addition of Parental controls and Focus mode. With the parental controls component, users can limit their children’s phone use by specific App usage timer, screen-on timer etc. Focus mode helps to silent notifications when user trying to concentrate on work or watch a video or something on mobile. So user can enable the Focus mode and work without distractions. Later, user can turn it off by the shortcut created or through Quick Settings toggle.
It is a new way to multi-task on Android 10. Galaxy A10 and A30 users can chat on Whatsapp and browse web or watch a video simultaneously using the Bubble feature. Small icon shortcut bubbles on home screen act similar to Facebook’s chatheads, so users don’t have to launch the app or reach for notification bar to give reply.
New Emoji collection
The update includes new emoji collection finalized earlier, however, it is still not known whether Samsung includes with the update or replace them with their own. The new emoji set includes Gender neutral emoji like Policeman, Haircut and so on. Many animals are also included in emojis this time.
We will update this post soon with more details about Android 10 for Samsung A10 and A30.
