Android 10 update will hit OnePlus 6 and 6T soon

One Plus 6 and 6T are last year flagships, running on Oxygen OS based on Android 9 Pie. The next major update for these flagships is Oxygen OS 10.0 based on Android 10.

Google released the Android 10 update officially on September 3rd and One Plus begins the Open beta program for One Plus 7 flagship on the next day. Recently One Plus finished the beta testing and started phased rollout of Android 10 for OP7.

At the launch event of One Plus 7T Pro, the tech giant shares the rollout schedule of Android 10 for One Plus 6 and 6T flagships. The flagships will join the Open Beta program by the end of this month and receive the official stable build in the next month.

As OnePlus finishes the beta testing in about one month without any hiccups for the latest flagship, we hope OP6 and 6T follow it. According to a community post, the update is under rigorous development and meticulous testing. The above roadmap is applicable only if there will be no technical issues.

The update will come with new features like Full Gesture navigation, improved location sharing permissions, updated user interface, Digital wellbeing with Family link and Focus mode, Battery saver scheduler and many more.

According to OnePlus forums, the rollout of Android 10 Open Beta 1 has begun for OnePlus 6 and 6T flagships. So the users in the Open Beta program should receive the Android 10 OTA very soon. The beta program is currently restricted to the unlocked, non-carrier variants of the OnePlus 6 and 6T. So users with carrier-locked devices like on T-Mobile are not getting the Beta atleast for now.

The Chinese tech giant advises users to ensure the battery level to above 30 percent and free storage of atleast 3GB to smooth install of the OTA. The update include all goodies of stock Android 10 and also Smart Display, Game Space, block Spam messages features.
